BECOME BEAUTY OF THE USA - HOW TO GET SPONSORS

What Is A Sponsor? A sponsor is any individual or business providing cash, services or merchandises to a pageant contestant in exchange for promotional advertising or intangible items .

Who Can Be A Sponsor? Any business or individual can be a sponsor. Any business that you patronize (be it in your own neighborhood or online), can be a potential sponsor. You may also ask your family and friends to sponsor you. Civic organizations such as the Lion's Club may be willing to sponsor contestants. Avoid getting sponsored by any type of liquor establishment because it will not go well with the image you want to create. Potential sponsors may include the following:

  • Automobile Dealers
  • Hotels
  • Furniture Stores
  • Your Employer
  • Construction companies
  • Relatives
  • Clothing Stores
  • Night Clubs
  • Restaurants
  • Printers
  • Corner Stores
  • Real Estate
  • Cosmetic companies
  • Gift Shops
  • Attorneys
  • Doctors
  • Friends

  • How To Approach a Prospective Sponsor - Introduce yourself and your involvement with the pageant in a brief letter (or e-mail) to your prospective sponsor. In your letter, request an appointment to meet him/her and discuss the possibilities of a promotional trade. Always look neat, well-groomed and professional during a meeting. Think positive, be courteous, and communicate yourself clearly and enthusiastically.

How Many Sponsors Should You Have? Line up as many sponsors as you need. Remember that the businesses who agree to sponsor you should receive their agreed upon promotional advertising or whatever you and they have agreed to barter.
